MHA President
I am a permaculture designer, teacher, and urban farmer. For the past thirty years I have been a passionate advocate for teaching self-reliance and sustainability. These tools have brought me to travel to Ecuador, Colombia, Honduras, and Mexico to work with indigenous people on self-reliance. I have been working in schools and facilitating 4H clubs for many years. I am presently a Co-Founder of a Community-Led Preparedness Training for Climate Emergencies, and I work for the City of Boulder as an Emergency Response Connector. I have been on the MHA Board of Directors since 2011. I am an artist, a mother of 9, and a momma to 3 fur-babies.
MHA Vice President
I moved to Mapleton in 2018 after spending 6 years in CA. I’m originally from Brooklyn, NY. I love living here in Boulder and feel fortunate to be a part of the Mapleton community.
I joined the Board and the Management Committee 2023 because I want to be of service to my community.
I currently work as a hairstylist and permanent makeup technician, but my work experience until 2020 was primarily in business administration in the tech industry where I helped small and medium sized businesses develop systems, education programs and problem-solving strategies to improve output and efficiency. I hope to use those organizational and problem solving skills along with an industrious mindset to support the board in finding novel solutions to improving life in the Mapleton Park community for all residents.
In my free time I do yoga, meditate, build stuff, fix stuff, learn about everything I can possibly wrap my brain around, and listen to lots and lots of non-fiction audiobooks. During the growing season I can mostly be found in my garden or workshop, and I’m excited about working with residents this coming summer to get a Reishi mushroom growing project kicked off to support our local bee population.
MHA Secretary
I moved into the Park in May of 1986. I had moved to Boulder from Seattle, Washington to study Aikido with Hiroshi Ikeda Sensei. I originally lived in #50 and was married to Debbie Kranzler in a small ceremony on the lot’s back deck next to the stream. Later Debbie and I bought the home at lot 14. Debbie, who was instrumental in forming the MHA’s Management Committee and drafting the Park’s initial Rules and Regulations, passed away in 2003.
When not working on Park business, I write. I have written around 20 novels and non-fiction works. The following line from my author’s bio at Amazon sums me up pretty well: ‘He’s kicked around the universe long enough to have more than a few bumps and bruises. Roughed up and battered like his hat, he’s still looking for the exit.’
While I am fortunate to have published a few books and short stories, I feel my greatest accomplishment has been working for residents and the Park through the MHA. That all started, innocently enough, in 1995 when Gene Langlois, Don Lucas, Dan Teboe and Carol Teboe called for a Park meeting to form a residents association. I took notes at the meeting. At the second meeting, I again took notes. Midway through I stepped out to go to the bathroom, and when I returned, the residents had elected me president of the newly formed Mapleton Home Association.
It has been an honor to work with residents through the Board of Directors to create our resident run mobile home park. There are so many people who over the past two and a half decades have worked hard to make the MHA and our resident-managed community a reality. My thanks to everyone for your support.
MHA Management Committee Chair
I moved to the park in 2012. I love to garden and I love helping create precious community. I am marred to Richard Kluding.
